Assistant Accountant

📍 Seaforth, Liverpool | 💰 £30,000 - £35,000 + Study Support | Office Based

A well-established manufacturing business is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join its finance team in Liverpool. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong transactional finance experience who is looking to continue their professional development within a growing and supportive organisation.

The role will support the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring the accurate processing of financial transactions, maintaining financial records, and assisting with month-end and year-end activities. Experience across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, and general transactional accounting processes is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing supplier and customer invoices
• Managing purchase and sales ledger activities
• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Monitoring and following up outstanding customer payments
• Supporting monthly and annual close processes
• Assisting with VAT returns and financial reporting
• Maintaining financial and master data records
• Supporting inventory and stock control activities
• Working with and maintaining finance systems, including ERP platforms such as Dynamics 365

About You

• Previous experience in a finance, accounts, or assistant accountant position
• Strong understanding of AP, AR, and transactional finance processes
• Experience within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or similar environments is highly desirable
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Studying towards, or keen to begin, a professional qualification such as CIMA or ACCA would be advantageous
