An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and technically strong Financial Controller to join a large, fast-paced organisation in a senior leadership role.

We are seeking an audit-trained qualified accountant (ACA preferred, ACCA considered) who has successfully transitioned into industry and developed a strong background in financial reporting, controls and accounting leadership within a complex business environment.

This is a key role responsible for leading accounting, financial reporting and control activities, ensuring the delivery of accurate, compliant and timely financial information while driving process improvements, standardisation and best practice across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the accounting, financial reporting and financial controls function.
  • Oversee month-end, year-end and statutory reporting processes.
  • Manage external audit relationships and ensure successful audit delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with FRS102 and relevant accounting standards.
  • Maintain and enhance a robust financial control environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation and process efficiencies across finance.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to support decision-making and governance.
  • Lead, develop and mentor a high-performing finance team.

About You

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA).
  • Audit-trained with experience gained in practice before moving into industry.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including FRS102.
  • Experience within a large, complex and fast-paced organisation.
  • Proven track record of managing and developing finance teams.
  • Strong understanding of statutory reporting, financial controls and audit management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on delivering operational excellence.
