Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a global manufacturing company based in Deeside, in their search for a Credit & Risk Manager.

The Credit & Risk Manager is responsible for managing the credit control function across the UK, as well as coordinating credit policy and performance globally. The role is pivotal in protecting financial interests, ensuring robust credit risk assessment, managing credit insurance, and fostering a customer-centric, commercially supportive credit environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire the credit control team setting clear objectives, expectations, and development plans.
  • Drive alignment and collaboration between finance and commercial teams.
  • Undertake detailed financial analysis of customers, including large contractors and key accounts.
  • Approve and monitor credit limits.
  • Provide senior-level oversight of overdue debt, high-risk customers, and key account escalations.
  • Work closely with sales directors, key account managers, and business development teams to support commercial growth while protecting receivables.
  • Lead direct engagement with customers to review risk, agree payment terms, resolve any of disputes, and negotiate recovery strategies.
  • Manage the credit insurance programme.
  • Coordinate credit policies and processes to drive standardization, compliance, and best practices.
  • Lead divisional credit forums, share insights, and support continuous improvement initiatives across regional teams.

Experience & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in credit control, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a multinational and B2B environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex credit operations across multiple teams and countries.
  • Experience managing credit insurance portfolios is essential.
  • A relevant financial or business qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CICM) is advantageous.
