Financial Reporting Lead - 12 Month FTC
Location: Liverpool (Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 WFH)
Salary: Up to £75,000 + benefits
Contract: 12-month Fixed Term Contract
We're working with a well-established and respected business in Liverpool to recruit a Financial Reporting Accountant for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable and supportive team in a business operating in a heavily regulated sector.
The ideal candidate will be a technically strong qualified accountant with experience in financial reporting within a regulated environment. You'll be comfortable interpreting complex accounting standards, leading external audit activity, and ensuring the business meets all statutory, regulatory, and internal reporting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Own the preparation and delivery of statutory accounts in line with relevant accounting standards (IFRS or FRS 102).
• 
  Lead on regulatory reporting obligations, ensuring full compliance with industry-specific regulations and deadlines.
• 
  Manage the year-end and interim audit process, acting as the key contact for external auditors and internal stakeholders.
• 
  Ensure all financial reporting controls are operating effectively, identifying opportunities for strengthening governance and compliance.
• 
  Support the implementation of new accounting standards and regulatory changes, including impact assessments and process changes.
• 
  Prepare board and committee reporting packs with clear financial analysis and commentary.
• 
  Liaise closely with tax, treasury, FP&A, and operational finance teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of group reporting.
• 
  Deliver high-quality technical accounting papers and support the wider business in understanding and applying accounting policy.
• 
  Work with the wider finance function on continuous improvement and efficiency projects related to reporting and compliance.

Candidate Profile:

• 
  Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong technical accounting knowledge.
• 
  Experience working in or with regulated sectors
• 
  Strong understanding of external reporting requirements and internal control frameworks.
• 
  Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• 
  Detail-focused, with a proactive and solutions-driven approach.
• 
  Experience managing audit relationships and regulatory submissions.
